There are

days until LOST returns

I am a writer and freelance videographer/independent filmmaker living in north-central North Carolina. This blog is meant to be an online reflection of my thoughts and ideas on things that interest me, that I think might be worth sharing with other people. Although my writing may seem overtly political at times, I do not wish to be known as either a "conservative" or a "liberal". Sometimes I express my more spiritual side, which is that of a Christian who believes that the modern church has become too obsessed with the things of this world. I also enjoy traveling, writing, and having a good time with family and friends. And I'm really good at deep-frying turkey.

Basically I'm just a guy who's trying to be what God made him to be... and having a lot of fun along the way!

Dear Lord, save us from ourselves...

A store clerk was trampled to death this morning after thousands of shoppers stampeded into a Wal-Mart in New York when it opened for "Black Friday" at 5 a.m.

And this was the scene at a Wal-Mart in Concord, North Carolina (about 2 hours away) when shoppers stormed the electronics section and fought for the last Xbox 360...

EDIT 5:06 p.m. EST: And now two people have been shot to death in a Toys R Us in California.

I heard that some shoppers in the Long Island incident were indignant that they were prevented from entering the store when the police arrived to conduct their investigation. I hope the identify every person that stepped foot on that person, or looked upon them and moved along to go shop, and charge them criminally. Un.Freakin. Believable. Disgusting.

Small consolation: apparently the Toys R Us incident ended up being two thugs that ran into each other and decided that the store was a good place for a shootout. Glad to know they both are receiving their just rewards as I type this.

Bah humbug way to start the season....
